This is an onsite position.
Miramar, FL (South Florida)
Duration: 10 Months contract to hire

Scope of work:
The Project Financial Analyst will be responsible for monitoring and ensuring plan quality and forecast accuracy for a portfolio of 60-80 capital projects ranging in size from $100k to $10M.
Daily duties will include:
Verifying and performing initial funds allocation and funds transfers
Creating charge codes and assigning them to project plans
Monitoring active projects for exception conditions, project health, and forecast accuracy
Monitor capitalization of project tasks to ensure proper accounting treatment in accordance with accounting rules and policies
Mentoring project managers in best practices for financial planning and accurate forecasting
Assisting in IT annual planning
Conducting training classes

Required skills/competencies:
Understanding of basic project management techniques, processes, tools and methodologies
Demonstrate a certain degree of creativity combined with analysis, critical thinking and problem solving skills
Detail oriented to ensure accuracy in analysis and reports
Solid interpersonal, organizational and verbal and written communication skills
Excellent spreadsheet skills, including ability to prepare pivot tables and consolidate data from multiple sources
Ability to organize and prioritize work in the face of shifting demands and deadlines
Proven ability to collaborate with technical peers
Capable of working independently and as part of a team.
Strong with methodologies, tools, best practices and processes within specific area of responsibility
Preferred Skills:
Proficiency in enterprise level project planning tools
Understanding of SOP 98-1 ''Accounting for the Costs of Software Development''
Preferred Education:
Undergraduate degree in Finance or Business Administration, or equivalent experience
