Overview:

We have an exciting opportunity for a Front-End Engineer who is looking to take his/her skills to the next level! Our end client utulizes the latest technology to fuel the marketing and ecommerce machine that has lead us to be the leading Direct Marketing Company. The right candidate will handle front-end work and use (rather than maintain and extend) our libraries. while learning our environment. This role is for someone with some LAMP skills combined with front-end HTML skills. If you have an interest in Ruby but have no experience, this is a great opportunity to learn it while building and maintaining some of our ecommerce sites as part of a small team. You will be designing, developing, and delivering creative and innovative products that meet the business needs.  We are looking for a self-starter, and someone who thrives working in a stable start up type of situation. 

 

Requirements:

  • 5+ years of experience designing and developing transactional Web applications
  • Experience with common Internet technologies, such as:
    • Linux (Red Hat Enterprise Linux, CentOS), Apache
    • Database: MySQL, or other RDBMS
    • HTML technologies: HTML, CSS, Javascript, AJAetc. Dreamweaver
    • Tracking: Omniture, Google Analytics
  • Plus other tools like GIT or Subversion
  • Ruby and Haml is nice to have
  • Experienced in Agile/SCRUM development
  • Quick learner, resourceful; flexibility in adapting in fast paced environment 
  • Good communication skills; must work well in a team environment 

Responsibilities:

  • Work with Lead Software Engineer to design, develop and deliver requested Business Requirements/Features/Fixes on weekly release schedule
  • Integrate to partner APIs
  • Support platform improvement and/or migration efforts
  • Support Operations team with release management;  and code version control
  • Analyze and review current functionality to determine potential areas of improvement
  • Consult on overall architecture and modification activities, particularly for new and/or shared infrastructure solutions.

Education

BS preferably in CS or related discipline 

 

Experience:

  • Quick learner, resourceful; flexibility in adapting in fast paced environment 
  • Good communication skills; must work well in a team environment
