Berean Group is looking for a Technical Product Support Engineer I

Location: Ashburn, VA
Duration: Full time

Technical Support of Comsearch Stand-Alone Software:
Direct interaction with internal and external Comsearch software customers for support on any technical inquiry
Working with customers on bug reports.
Reproducing software bugs in our own environment and documenting this for the development team.
Working directly with developers to make sure that the issue is understood and corrected appropriately.
Software installation and configuration management:
Provide software installations remotely and at customer premises
Configure software to customer?s requirements
Will be required to have or acquire thorough knowledge of UNIX OS, Windows OS, Oracle relational database, networking, VPN and Citrix XenApp.
Provide Comprehensive Customer training courses related to Comsearch software:
Courses include New user software training, Advance user refresher courses and Software System administration

Sales Support:
Support Sales with product demos
Maintain a technical relationship with the customer throughout the sales process.
Provide RFP/RFI technical responses
Setup on-site and remote trial installations & integration
Customer Relationship Management:
Responsible for regular phone calls with customers to see how they are doing
Try to visit the majority of the larger customers at least once per year

Technical Integration Services:
Integration with customer?s external databases, both technical and corporate.
Develop external scripts and programs to migrate data from other tools into Comsearch tools
Requires a thorough knowledge of Comsearch software, database schema, and scripting languages including C-Shell, K-Shell, Visual Basic

Testing & Quality Assurance: 
Assist with the testing of new software versions.
Technical Writing & Documentation:
Assist with development of new software requirements
Assist with development of Comsearch software User Guides and Release notes.

Enhanced Support:
Full, remote maintenance of the Comsearch product database
Complete data entry / importing of new equipment (radios, antennas, etc.)
Remote software product upgrades

A completed Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering, Telecommunications or IT with 0-2 years experience

Strong IT skills:  Operating systems (Unix a plus), working with large data sets and databases (Excel, Access, SQL), scripts, software installations.
Excellent oral and written communication skills and ability to interact directly with customers for tier 1 and tier 2 technical issues
